Year after year, Northern Lights has led editorial, creative direction, and audio for A+E’s annual presentation, bringing its networks, talent, and original programming together in one seamless, 22+ minute show.

Our work starts long before the final edit. We develop editorial animatics that help shape executive shoots and establish the flow of the presentation, giving the production team a creative roadmap before cameras start rolling.
Once production begins, so do we. Northern Lights provides on-set editorial support, ingests dailies as they become available, and pulls selects in real time — working closely with the production team to identify coverage needs and make sure every piece of the puzzle is there when it’s time to build the show.
With content coming in from as many as five different production vendors, bringing it all together is no small task. Northern Lights shapes the pacing, transitions, and storytelling across every element, turning a wide range of footage, talent, and programming into one cohesive, premium viewing experience.
The experience doesn’t stop at the picture. We oversee sound design, music selection, leveling, and the final audio mix, giving each presentation the polish, energy, and momentum it needs from opening frame to final beat. Once the master is complete, we also create multiple breakout versions tailored to individual sections of the show.
No two Upfronts are exactly alike. Each year brings an opportunity to experiment with new visual and editorial styles while maintaining the premium finish audiences have come to expect. What began as a virtual presentation has grown into a long-standing creative partnership, with Northern Lights returning year after year to help A+E Global Media tell its story.
